OUR CAPABILITY
Trainee programme

Safe Air Ltd is committed to providing aviation apprenticeship opportunities.

Apprenticeship and trainee programme

Applicants are expected to have completed a pre employment practical skill based, aircraft engineering qualification. In exceptional cases talented school leavers with an aircraft maintenance history and complementary allied trade's people will also be considered.

Aeronautical trainees experience our propeller, engine repair aircraft maintenance and bay sections working on the components, systems and structures of large aircraft such as C-130s, 737s and P-3s. This variety and exposure assists trainees in choosing an aircraft engineering career path.

Workplace Assessors and Expert Witnesses monitor trainee competency. Close affiliation with the Aviation, Tourism and Travel industry training organisation (ATTTO) ensures all NZQA unit standards are completed and accredited efficiently.

Our traineeship programme takes approximately three years to complete. Interviews are usually conducted in June and October. Priority is given to New Zealand residents.

Successful trainees have gone on to be fully employed at Safe Air and continue to work in a challenging, exciting industry.
