Air Prop Services becomes Safe Air Australia

Air Prop Services, an industry leader in propeller maintenance, repair and overhaul will be known as Safe Air Australia from 29 September 2008.

“The name Air Prop Services has served us well but our new name, Safe Air Australia, says more about the reputation we have built among Australian aircraft operators over the past 25 years,” explains Safe Air Australia’s Melbourne-based operations manager Doug Keesing. “We want to reflect that we are an Australian operated business that is known for its quality service to customers.”

“We are also looking ahead. We believe there is good potential for growth in this region and our new name provides a strong platform for future development,” he says.

The company’s reputation is underpinned by solid strategic partnerships with OEMs and global parts distributors.

Safe Air operates the largest propeller overhaul facility in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the only Dowty and Hamilton Sundstrand approved facility in the country and offers the only OEM approved major inspection service for Hamilton Sundstrand 14SF and 14RF propellers. Safe Air also carries OEM certification to service and support Sensenich, Hartzell and McCauley propellers.

Safe Air has the full range of specialist services and capabilities – such as non-destructive testing required to support to metal, composite propellers and components. It is the preferred propeller service provider to most of Australia’s top regional aircraft operators.

Safe Air Australia is a Royal Australian Air Force approved maintenance organisation and is the leading provider of propeller maintenance services to the Australian air force. It meets Commonwealth of Australia procurement requirements under Australian Industry Capability.
